Job Description

Location:  Owens Campus – Veterans Services

Status:  Full-Time

The Peer Support Specialist assists program participants with job placement, housing searches, home visits and support services. They will meet with clients under the direction of the case management team to track the success of clients Individual Service Plans and housing goals. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Personal experience in transition from military to civilian community
  • High school diploma (or GED/High School Equivalence Certificate) required
  • 1-2 years of experience of social services or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with homeless or at-risk veterans.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively independently or with a diverse group of residents, staff and community partners.
  • Must have a valid Nevada Driver License and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Veteran Status Preferred.
