Pay Range: $ 76,800.00 - $ 111,400.00

General Purpose of the Position

As a proactive and strategic partner, the People Experience Business Partner (PXBP) knows our talent and anticipates, addresses, and advises on their needs. They align business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The PXBP serves as a consultant to management on People-related issues. Will act as employee champion and change agent. PXBP assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with our People department and business management, the PXBP seeks to develop integrated solutions. The PXBP formulates partnerships across the People function to deliver value added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. The PXBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business units, its objectives (Bold Steps/Strategic Areas of Focus), its culture and its competition.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes the following). May perform other duties as requested or assigned.

  • Serves as a trusted advisor for both managers and employees by providing policy and procedure interpretation.
  • Coaches and develops manager skills around employee relations, performance management, talent development, compensation, employee engagement and other key areas.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Works closely with the Talent Acquisition Specialist to ensure all hiring processes are effective and legally compliant.
  • Participates in the onboarding of new employees by facilitating new employee orientation.
  • Works with and provides support to staff and managers throughout the performance management process. Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to leadership (e.g., coaching, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Work closely with the team and organization to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Manages and helps mitigate organizational risk by ensuring compliance with all employment laws.
  • Assists and advises employees with inquiries/concerns and acts as an impartial advocate for fair and equitable treatment.
  • Actively participates in business and People department projects and drives for effective results.
  • Provides change leadership directly and/or indirectly to support the roll-out of new initiatives, projects, re-organization, etc.
  • Understands the talent within the organization and creates strategies for managing potential (workforce planning, succession planning, and talent management).
  • Understands business needs and helps drive key People initiatives and strategic processes by partnering with business leaders across the organization.
  • Assists with implementing process improvements within the department.
  • Ensures projects are initiated and completed within identified timeframe.
  • Adhere to all Federal and State laws and regulations applicable to the credit union, including the Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC.
  • Travel throughout the State of Colorado, to our multiple locations, is required as part of this position.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from an accredited four (4) year college or university. A combination of 4 years of relevant experience and/or education may be substituted for the degree.
  • 4 years of experience in multiple human resource disciplines including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and/or talent management
  • Experience interpreting and implementing federal and state personnel/employment laws
  • Hybrid work available: must be able to maintain a regular on-site presence throughout our locations across the State of Colorado and in our corporate office.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant industry experience a plus
  • SPHR/PHR or SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP (SHRM Certified Professional) preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Thorough knowledge of human resource procedures, policies, federal/state laws and regulations, corporate policy, and employee benefit programs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to apply verbal and interpersonal skills that develop member confidence, respect and trust in Credit Union of Colorado and develop cooperative relationships with all levels of people throughout the organization.
  • Desire to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse population throughout the organization and community
  • Have the ability to communicate in a positive and effective manner, across various modalities

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
  • is typically required to remain stationary for long periods
  • is occasionally required to lift/move or transport up to 10 pounds
  • needs to occasionally move about inside an office to access files, mail, office machinery, etc.
  • constantly operates a computer and other office equipment, such as a phone, copier/printer, etc.
  • needs to position self to maintain computers, including under desks and in the server closet.
  • Frequently communicates with members and co-workers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
