Position Summary

Works under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. Utilizes established policies and procedures to maintain and distribute floor stock and unit dose medications and pharmaceuticals to patient care units, special services, and other areas throughout the medical center complex. Position also participates in the filling and stocking of automated dispensing devices, including handling and transporting of controlled substances.

Under direct supervision, manufactures the products dispensed by the Sterile Products division of the Pharmacy, such as large and small volume parenteral, chemotherapeutic preparations, total parenteral nutrition solutions, etc.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education:

Must be a high school graduate or the equivalent, Minimum of two years of pharmacy school completed and candidate must be in good academic standing with an accredited school of Pharmacy.

Minimum Experience:

Must standing and registered in Massachusetts as a Pharmacy Intern with the board of Pharmacy.

Minimum skills/abilities:

Interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate with other health care personnel. Familiarity with medical/ drug terminology, abbreviations, routes of administration, pharmacy security and product selection.

Certification/Licensure:

Must be registered as a Pharmacy Intern with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy.

Special Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age.
