POSITION SUMMARY:
- Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor, the Pharmacy Technician provides supportive help to the Pharmacist in distributing prescriptions for patients, outpatients. Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient's needs. When working in the ED, under the supervision of the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor, and in collaboration with the patient care team: will accurately collect and validate current prescribed medications, herbal supplements and over the counter medications for admitted patients and all other emergency department patients as time allows; will enter the information into the appropriate electronic medical records sections.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/License/Certification:
- Must be registered within the State of California Board of Pharmacy as Pharmacy Technician.
- Must have and maintain current BLS certification or obtain within orientation process, prior to assignment.
Experience/Skills:
- Preferred experience in retail pharmacy.
- Prefer ability to communicate in Spanish
