    Salary: Auxiliary Salary Schedule
    Reports to: Director of Student Services
    Supervises: No Supervisory Responsibilities

    Qualifications:
    • Current Physical Therapy license, in good standing, by the Arizona State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
    • Two years experience working with neurological disorders, developmental disabilities and multiple handicaps (preferred).
    • One-year pediatric physical therapy experience (preferred).
    • Knowledge and application of adaptive devices, assistive technology, durable medical equipment and environmental engineering issues as school related (preferred).
    • Medicaid provider registration
    • Physically capable of moving, assisting and lifting materials and students each day and potentially experiencing repetitive motion demands
    • Will travel between school campuses to access students and must be able to access all schools within district's boundaries.

    Essential Functions:
    • Conduct evaluation; develop and implement appropriate therapeutic programs for students.
    • Validate outside diagnostic evaluations and program recommendations.
    • Participate in the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) process as needed.
    • Recommend and assists with procurement of therapeutic equipment, adaptive devices, based on student needs and design specialized equipment as needed.
    • Plan, conduct and/or participate in inservice activities in the area of physical therapy.
    • Direct activities of assigned instructional assistants as appropriate.
    • Maintain daily and Medicaid logs and time study.
    • May be required to participate in student's meetings which occur beyond the staff's work assignment schedule.
    • Knowledge of federal, state and district laws, policies and standards affecting special education services and disability issues in the public schools.
    • Knowledge of district procedures and practices regarding identification, evaluation, placement, services structure and trans-disciplinary support.
    • Knowledge and skills in applying principles of child development, pediatric health, rehabilitation, and medical interventions to the students' education needs.
    • Regular and punctual attendance required to meet essential functions of job responsibilities.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director and/or Supervisor of Special Needs, Principal (as appropriate).

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
