Description
The Research department is seeking a qualified plasma scientist to join our collaborative team. This is an integrated position with responsibilities including theoretical modeling, sensor development, sensor testing, and assisting with application development related to plasma-enhanced deposition. Etching and cleaning processes related to semiconductor manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be well versed in both detection of plasma and generation of micro plasma from atmospheric pressure to low vacuum conditions. INFICON is actively seeking applications from candidates of all backgrounds.
This person will be part of multi-disciplinary agile teams developing the next generation plasma sensors and plasma sources for INFICON sensors. Job responsibilities:
• Designing and performing plasma experiments in laboratory setting
• Performing computational formulations for plasma simulation
• Developing simulation methods to model plasma performance
• Knowledgeable in electromagnetic, RF, and plasma theory
• Experience running plasma etch and deposition equipment in either a laboratory setting or production setting
• Analyzing internal and externally generated data to improve sensor performance
• Supporting application engineering team with customer questions
• Work with advanced data analysis to determine model parameters by fitting to experimental datasets.
• Experience with plasma diagnostic tools, Lab instruments, and sensors
• Ability to communicate concepts, ideas and results of work to a broad audience of different backgrounds
• Ability to work in cross functional and diverse team
Preferred Requirements
• Experience with optical spectroscopy sensors
• Knowledge of chemistry and surface interactions for semiconductor plasma etch and deposition processes
• Experience using simulation software such as COMSOL, HFSS, Sonnet
• Familiarity with Atomic Spectroscopy methods and data analysis
• Familiarity with mechanical and/or electrical design software
