    Summary:
    The Plumber is responsible for installation, alteration, and maintenance of plumbing and heating systems, fitting, and accessories in accordance with standard practices of the plumbing trade. Written or verbal assignments may be accompanied by sketches, penciled layouts or blueprints.

    Responsibilities:
    -Lays out, installs, maintains, and repairs standard plumbing equipment in water, gas, oil, sewage, fire control, sprinkler and steam systems.
    -Installs, repairs, and replaces valves, faucets, traps, sinks, washbowls, sewer pipes, vents, and bathroom, kitchen or toilet fittings.
    -Installs, repairs, and replaces plumbing systems including the cutting, bending, threading, reaming, assembling, caulking, yarning, wiping and soldering of various pipes, fittings, joints, and valves.
    -Installs, repairs, and replaces kitchen equipment and appliances.
    -Uses standard plumbing tools and power driven machines.
    -Prepares estimates of material, time and labor, and may order supplies.
    -May instruct, lead and supervise lesser skilled tradesmen.
    -Maintains sanitary and storm sewer lines with drain cleaning equipment.
    -Tests and repairs backflow devices.
    -Carries out oral and written directions. Accurately documents work performed on work orders defining problem and solution. Enters time and Work Order numbers accurately on time cards.
    -Communicates and coordinates problem resolution with schools, district staff and outside contractors.
    -Conducts PM's on facility and site, systems and equipment for maintenance and safety issues; makes repairs as required or provides recommendations to the District for correction.
    -Available for after hours call out
    -Respond as essential personnel in case of an emergency, weather or environmental event, and/or school/facility/district closure.
    -Performs related work as assigned or required

    Qualifications
    Required:

    -High school diploma or GED
    -Minimum of one year experience as a Plumber
    -Licensed by the State of Colorado as a Journeyman Plumber
    -Currently hold a valid Colorado Driver's License, must submit a current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and must be insurable and maintain insurability per Colorado School Districts Self Insurance Pool (CSDSIP) standards
    -Considerable knowledge of the standard methods, practices, tools and materials of the plumbing trade
    -Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade
    -Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds; occasional dual-lifts of up to 100 pounds
    -Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of others
    -Ability to read, interpret, and work from rough sketches, drawing, and blueprints
    -Ability to make cost estimates of time and materials

    Preferred:
    -Cross connection control technician
    -Master plumber

    Salary Information:
    -Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
