Polysomnographic Tech - Hawthorn Sleep ; per diem
Job Description
Job Summary: Works under the supervision of the Department Director. Performs, assigns and assists with the performing of sleep disorders testing. Performs technical analysis (scoring) of sleep disorder tests. Responsible for the night time technical operation of the Sleep Lab. Generates reports for physicians and the Department Director. Compiles information, interviews and instructs patients and their families. Helps maintain the lab within ASDA guidelines. Assists with the development and presentations of department related programs as needed. Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Education Requirements: High School Diplma required. AS degree or experience preferred. Basic and advanced Polysomnographic courses or at least 2 years experience in polysomnography functioning in a similar position preferred.
Minimum Work Experience: 1 to 2 years in a full service sleep center preferred
Other skills and abilities: Must be able to recommend alternative therapy, testing procedures based on individual patient needs.
Equipment/Software/Certification: Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) is preferred. All staff who do not yet have this credential must be able to show progressive evidence of their efforts to obtain same to department manager. Current CPR certification preferred.
