  • Demonstrates the use of critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities in coordinating and supervising patient care
  • Completes documentation which reflects current nursing standards, and which supports policies and procedures
  • Manages and operates unit equipment safely and correctly
  • Demonstrates knowledge of current patient safety goals and policies
  • Applies knowledge of infection control policies and procedures supporting standards of care
  • Communicates appropriately with patients, physicians, co-workers, staff and patient families
  • Interacts with a high level of professionalism, respect and dignity
  • Maintains patient confidentiality
  • Participates in the clinical development of self and others to provide for personal growth, unit clinical competency and unit retention
  • Participates in the department's continuous quality improvement activities
  • Committee and meeting participation: Unit staff meetings; other participation as appropriate and required
  • Position patients for procedures
  • Understanding of supplies needed for procedures
  • Understanding in performing Time-outs
  • Ability to work with pre-op, PACU, and other interdisciplinary teams as needed
  • Works directly with Surgeons and Anesthesia and assists as needed

Position Requirements

  • ADN in Nursing
  • Licensed RN in the State of Arizona or Compact RN License
  • BLS / ACLS / PALS as needed as required by Department
  • Ability to work effectively with computer based charting and other clinical software programs
  • Adaptability to change, organizational skills
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • Minimum of 2 Years of Operating Room Nursing Experience

Preferred Requirements

  • 3-5 Years of Operating Room Nursing Experience
  • CNOR Certification
  • Bachelors in Nursing or relevant
