PreservationSupervisor:

ThePreservation Supervisor (PS) assists the Managerof Organ Intake and Surgical Services in facilitating the day-to-day operations of the Preservation Coordinator (PC) team. Thesupervisor will assist in the daily supervision, training and performance evaluation of the Preservation Coordinators. This position is responsible for leading the organ preservation staff in efforts to maximize donation and organstransplanted per donor.

The supervisoris also responsible for assisting the Clinical Education Supervisor (CES) and Organ Intake and Surgical ServicesEducator (OISSE) with developing and implementing all aspects of the PC stafftraining and continued professional development. Thisincludes, but is not limited to, onboarding, didactic and clinical training,revising training materials, and coordinating training activities of new PCsand continuing education activities.

The supervisoris also responsible for the duties of the Preservation Coordinator role. Thisincludes overseeing the living-related donation coordination and preservationprocess, and medical research and education. The Preservation Supervisor isalso responsible for monitoring and maintaining the call schedule, including PTO requests with the Referraland Allocation Supervisor (RAS) and the Mangerof Organ Intake and Surgical Services.

Responsibilitiesare to be carried out in a manner that reflects DNAscomprehensive/full-service approach to donation by participating andcooperating with other department supervisors/ managers. The Preservation Supervisor will also beresponsible for performing other duties as requested.

Essential Duties:

Supervises Preservation Staff assigned

2. Training - complieswith AOPO, CMS, and UNOS guidelines

3. Administrative
Reviews and approves timecards ofassigned team members.
Assists in the coordination andrevisions of the on-call scheduling of all recovery as needed.
Assists in theimplementation of strategic planning with departmentand organizational leadership.
Based on quality reviews of preservationprocesses, make recommendations to the Manager of Organ Intake and SurgicalServices and/or Quality Department Manager for quality improvement projects.

4.Research Support
Assists PC staff as requested to preparecase and abstract presentations. Identifiesresources,offers guidance, and mentors suchefforts.
Assists staff to identify conferences, workshops, and similar beneficial educational opportunities. Works with conference attendees to ensure learning is disseminated appropriately.

5. Other Duties
Maintains clinical skills, participates in on-call schedule. Threshold 6-8 12-hour callshifts, depending on role/department needs.
Provides relief forcall schedule in times of absences and high activity in preservation, referraland/or placement.
Assists clinicalleadership with special projects, as assigned.
Performs relatedduties, responsibilities and projects as needed and/or assigned.

On-Call andOffice Responsibilities

1. Shares "on-call" responsibility on arotating basis with other Organ Intake and Surgical Services staff in thepreservation role 6-8 12-hour shifts/month,or 612-hour referralresponder shifts, or 6 12-hour placementdesk shifts depending on department needs. Shares 10-15 24-hour AOCcall days with the other Referral and Allocation Supervisor and Manager ofOrgan Intake and Surgical Services.

2.Office hours as required and/or assigned, including attendance at monthly staff meetings. Minimum of 2-3office days per week.


Qualifications:

Education:
Required: High School Diploma
Preferred: Associates, Bachelors, or Masters degree in an applicable field

Minimum Experience:
PreservationCoordinator forat least 3 years, at least 1 year of primaryprecepting, and CertifiedTransplant Preservationist(CTP) or Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC). Candidates mustdemonstrate experience in excellent verbal and written communications skills,impactful presentation and facilitation skills.

Preferred Experience
Five years offield experience as a Preservation Coordinator.
Experience in strategic planning of shortterm and long-term staffdevelopment, educational goals,and knowledge transfer. Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining training systems, and most importantly - coaching and developing others to improve their clinical practice.
