Primary Care Physician or Family Nurse Practitioner

Job Description

You will work to help our members manage and improve their physical health. You will collaborate with psychiatrists, counselors, substance abuse specialists and others who will treat behavioral health and substance abuse conditions while you treat physical health conditions, all with the full support and assistance of a professional clinical team.

This is a unique opportunity to increase your skill set. Youll learn about working with the seriously mentally ill and their challenges, as well as their unique gifts. Youll also learn about collaborating in an integrated care setting, where youll make new connections and discover new opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS

Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements

  • Must possess one of the following:
    • Medical degree with appropriate training and two (2) or more years' experience
    • Completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program required; must possess Certification
    • At least one (1) year experience as a full-time nurse practitioner with prescriptive authority following N.P. licensure
    • Licensed to practice medicine by the State of Arizona; eligible for Board certification; valid DEA certification required.
    • Must maintain current CPR, First Aid, and Therapeutic Options certifications (offered through Southwest Network)
    • Must maintain a valid Arizona driver's license and car insurance
    • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Knowledge, Ability, and Skills

  • Requires knowledge of the principles and practices of preventive medicine.
  • Requires knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to medicine and community health, as well as knowledge of the structure and function of community health centers.
  • Must have the ability to maintain excellent member and family relationships and provide excellent customer service.
  • Requires effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to stay organized and have critical thinking, time management and problem solving skills are a must.
  • Ability to utilize multiple types of office equipment (i.e. phones, copier, fax, etc.)
  • Ability to type 25 to 40 WPM is preferred
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Must be able to utilize the internet and various web browsers
