Job Description
SUMMARY:
Directs and coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, equipment, services, machine parts, supplies, central stores stockroom, and on-site printing of pressure sensitive labels for the organization by following the guidelines set forth in Corporate policy and performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Purchases capital equipment and negotiates capital installation projects.
- Educates and trains buyers in developing more advanced purchasing expertise.
- Reviews, advises, directs, counsels, and manages Capital Equipment MRO buyers' daily work activities.
- Manages and supervises the daily activities of the Purchasing Department.
- Reviews and approves supplier base for material, capital and MRO purchase orders processed.
- Coordinates capital purchasing interface with department managers, writes CERs and obtains proper senior management approvals.
- Purchases and coordinates shipments and installation of capital equipment. Addresses warranty issues.
- Assigns appropriate Buyer to process incoming requisitions and controls residence time in the department.
- Negotiates and disposes of obsolete capital equipment.
- Maintains consignment records for obsolete equipment and audits status quarterly.
- Initiates, negotiates, and arranges for new products packaging.
- Assigns buyers to process incoming requisitions and control residence time in purchasing.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly manages Buyers and Administrative Assistants in the Purchasing Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or a minimum of ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compensation and Schedule:
$90k - $110k, Hours will be Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, occasional weekends.
