Product Development Mechanical Engineer

Job Description:

Improve existing products design through structure improvement, mechanism improvement, and mechanical performance improvement. Create detailed design drawings. Build prototypes for testing. Plan and perform detailed product validation and verification tests. Analyze structure strength, deflection, and stiffness, fatigue, life cycle, and failure modes. Fabricate prototype parts to validate numerical and conceptual designs. Coordinate with manufacturing team on design realization and manufacturability improvements. Develop validation and test plans and procedures to qualify manufacturing processes. International and domestic travel required up to 15% of the time.

Job Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree or the foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field plus 1 year of experience in a Mechanical Engineering occupation are required. The required experience must include the following:

• 1 year of experience with product design and product lifecycle;

• 1 year of experience working with product-based failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and root cause analysis; and

• 1 year of experience working with solidworks and associated 3D modeling toolsets.

• International and domestic travel required up to 15% of the time.
