Production Skills Trainer I

$1250 Hiring Bonus

General Description of Duties:

• Assist adults with special needs in a work-like environment and/or training of daily living skills
• Provide assistance with eating and all aspects of personal care
• Work with individuals with severe behavior problems as necessary
• Document individual's progress and make recommendations for program changes
• Assist with training other personnel as required
• Participate in the ISP (Individualized Service Plan) process, team meetings, and time-study process
• Prepare associated written documentation for meetings and processes
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Training:

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required with post high school, college preferred.
• Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with internal and external customers of Adelante.
• Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures, give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms, and effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, supervisors, and co-workers.
• Must be able to handle behavior problems potentially involving verbal & physical aggression; individuals with medical problems.
• Ability to present a friendly, courteous image for the Agency to the general public, customers, and public officials.
• Experience working with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Must complete specific certifications (from our training department) and maintain those certifications throughout employment.

Other Requirements: Must pass TB test, drug screening, and background check (Mandatory fingerprinting and screening by State of NM and FBI). Must have reliable transportation, valid NM drivers license, insurable driving record and proof of current liability insurance. Must have effective verbal communication and writing skills. Must be able to stand for long intervals of several hours throughout the day. Must be able to lift 50 lbs as well as support 70-100 lbs. occasionally. Adelante is a drug free workplace.
