Description
Position Overview:
The Production Value Steam Leader is responsible for the coaching, developing and leading of the production team.
The Production Value Stream Leader will present a clear and defined direction to the production team, drive production goals, and set training priority to maximize value and satisfaction to our customers. The Production Value Stream Leader will work with the Operations Quality team, the Process team and the Operations team to insure production and quality goals are achieved. The ideal candidate has multi-year experience in a lean manufacturing environment, leading teams, strong communicator, is able to multi-task, meet ambitious targets and goals, and lead execution towards fast results.
Responsibilities:
• Directly manage a team of 10-15 technicians in a fast paced, hands on manufacturing environment
• Oversee department training plan, progress, and cross training efforts to increase flexibility and ensure 100% coverage of all rework processes
• Maintain team engagement and team morale
• Maintain World Class Leadtimes by applying lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
• Continuous buildup of Lean Manufacturing Methodology (Lead 5S improvements, Visual Factory Improvements, and Changeover/Setup Reductions)
• Maintain Continuous Improvement mindset within the production teams, running Kaizen events
• Align the production team to meet key KPIs on Quality, Leadtimes and Productivity/Cost
• Highlight critical issues of value stream to the Operations Management Team and champion to resolution
• Ensure exceptional quality and exceed customer expectations through active involvement with the team and urgent action when required
• Develop concepts, implement, and continuously improve next generation shop floor in collaboration with the Value Steam Leaders, Process Engineering, Quality, Planning, TEF, and V&V
REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimal requirement: BS in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering or relatable technical field with 2-3+ years' experience in progressively more responsible production and management roles
• Experience in leading a team in a fast paced, hands on manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated history of developing production talent and teams
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing
• Experience in high cleanliness, tight tolerance, and high mix manufacturing environments.
• High level of integrity/accountability; honesty; treats people with respect; viewed as a role model; ability to quickly establish significant credibility, trust, and support with other levels of the organization.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Self-motivated to achieve and promote high levels of performance.
• Lifelong learner; technologically savvy.
Preferred:
• Green Belt Level or higher
• Working knowledge of SAP, information systems
• Knowledge of ISO9001 and/or 14001 in a lean manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with mass spectrometer applications for research, semiconductor, and related processes
