Salary: $18.74 Hourly

Job Description:

PROGRAM COORDINATOR: Under the supervision of the Program Manager shall oversee and coordinate all program activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

AA degree in the social sciences or business, plus a minimum of four (4) years experience working with youth; or any combination of six years experience working with youth.

Supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge of youth issues/services and community programs serving the target population.

Must be able to follow and carry out written and oral instructions quickly and accurately.

Ability to establish an effective working relationship with staff, the target population and the public.

Must be able to use discretion in all facets or work-related situation.

Broad knowledge of the needs, drives and interest of children, youth and families.

Ability to perform all work rapidly and accurately, meeting all deadlines when applicable.

Ability to exhibit emotional maturity and good judgment, to include high standards of morals and speech.

Must be dependable and flexible with regard to working hours.

Must have direct service experience in a clinical setting and have an understanding of how mental health issues impact on children and families.

JOB CHARACTERISTICS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position is exempt from overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. This is a professional position which requires organizational and communication skills, as well as judgment, tact and diplomacy in contacts with YDI employees, community residents, parents and local government agencies. Strict adherence is required to all regulations concerning confidentiality. Good general health.

Background investigation to include fingerprinting will be required. Physical required at offer of employment and may be required intermittently.

Due to the outreach nature of the position, frequent travel around the metropolitan area required by employee and proof of satisfactory car insurance is required.

Youth Development, Inc. is an at-will employer. Employment is by mutual consent of the company and employee, and either may terminate the relationship at any time with or without cause or advance notice. This job is contingent upon funding; however, availability of funding is not a guarantee of continued employment, nor does it imply any specific term of employment.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Not Inclusive):
  • Will coordinate program in accordance with the scope of work stipulated in the funded proposal.
  • Will assist in screening, hiring and terminating program personnel.
  • Referrals of youth to appropriate public and private youth, human services agencies and follow-up.
  • Will maintain a system to document contracts, which will include client demographics and types of services provided or referred.
  • Will provide advocacy services on behalf of the target population with public and private agencies, human services agencies and other appropriate agencies.
  • Will provide direct services to clients and families including intake/assessment and case management.
  • Will be responsible to participate in weekly case staffing with project staff.
  • Will recommend, plan and/or conduct in-service training for program staff in conjunction with the Deputy Director.
  • Will assist quarterly activities for the purpose of evaluating program services.
  • Will submit monthly reports on program activities to the Deputy Director and appropriate reports to the funding agency.
  • Other duties as assigned.
