The UNM-Valencia campus is acceptingapplications for the position of Program Coordinator

This is a grant-funded position that ends 08/31/2021and will be renewed annually based on availability of federal funding. TheProgram Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Administrativesupport for the department;
  • Servesas a central point of contact between constituencies on day-to-day programmaticand operational matters;
  • Coordinatestravel arrangements.;
  • Createsand maintains grant activity records, reports, and databases;
  • Monitorsand administers program expenses.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerquein rural Valencia county, the University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is atwo-year branch campus of the University of New Mexico which functions as acommunity college in the region and is designated a Hispanic ServingInstitution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campusoffers academic transfer programs, technical vocational programs, Adult BasicEducation, and Dual Credit High School/College courses to Valencia and SocorroCounties. The faculty and staff serve a student body of over 2,000 creditstudents per semester.

Conditions of Employment
  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the USUNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with grant administration
  • Experience working with and/or understanding the needs of first generation, disadvantaged students
  • Experience with Banner and Excel
  • Experience as a SSSPstaff or student
