PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Responsible for the release management lifecycle, which includes scheduling, coordinating and management of releases across the enterprise for multiple applications across different portfolios. The releases can span from monthly upgrades, application updates, security patches, performance improvements, hardware upgrades and operational transformation. This role will collaborate across all lines of business and multiple technical teams to ensure the successful coordination of configuration deployments, acceptance of completed validation, various internal and external points of integration and deployment of varying both internal and vendor software releases. The Program Lead provides recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders, so they make decisions regarding the readiness for release implementations. They are responsible for assisting in updating the standards and policies necessary to manage multiple technical application releases throughout a progressive environment structure. This role requires a strong blend of technical acumen with excellent communication and strong organizational skills.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required Work Experience
  • 5 years of experience in Release and/or Project Management and demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
  • 5 years of experience in software development lifecycle and Agile delivery
  • 10 years of experience in information systems operations environment with demonstrated effective leadership and systems analysis or development skills

  • High-School Diploma or GED in general field of study

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Work Experience
  • 2 years of experience in a Healthcare claim industry with a strong understanding of claims processing from either a provider/hospital point of view or from a payer's point of view
  • 5 years of experience in managing and developing effective operational areas with Advanced written and verbal communication skills

  • Bachelor's degree in management, Project Management, Business Administration, Computer Science or Information Systems field of study

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively plan the release windows and cycles across a portfolio through iterative discussions with product teams and enterprise architects
  • Manage risk and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
  • Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations
  • Coordinate release content and effort based on the service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications, or operating system updates
  • Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes
  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations
  • Conduct Release Readiness reviews and provide recommendations to the Enterprise Release Governance Council for Go/No Go decision
  • Weekly Release Reporting
  • Maintains the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors
  • Continually work towards making improvements in the release process
  • Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment plans and checklists
  • Maintains a release repository and manages key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists
  • Research new software development and configuration management methodologies and technologies and analyzes their application to current configuration management needs
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers. Assure service level agreements are established, monitored and managed effectively. Implement action plans to resolve any issues preventing the area from meeting goals
  • Assure the proper change management protocols are followed to maximize benefit and alleviate unnecessary disruption to the organization and the external customers
  • Provide recommendations in the development and design of new system logic to support legislative activity, medical policy changes, reimbursement methodology changes, provider contracting needs, etc.
  • Awareness of business requirements to support system and/or process change
  • Coordinate the identification, prioritization and resolution of issues with the various business areas and vendors

  • The position requires a full-time work schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or as needed to meet business requirements.
