Department: Prevention Intervention and Behavioral Health

Salary: $1,844.80 Bi-Weekly
FT/PT Status: Reg Full Time

Job Description:

Under the direct supervision of the Vice-President, is responsible for developing, coordinating, and conducting supervision of operations for assigned program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree in social science, education, or related field.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience or any combination of education and experience to equal 9 years which directly reflects background in the areas described under duties including (1) year of demonstrated supervisory experience.

Extensive knowledge of community resources and the needs of youth.

Ability to establish strong working relationships with the public, especially with community agencies.

Ability to provide public speaking, staff training and community presentation services.

Ability to exhibit emotional maturity and good judgment, to include high standards of morals and speech.

Must be dependable and flexible with regard to working hours.

Must be able to follow and carry out written and oral instructions quickly and accurately.

Must be able to use discretion in all facets of work-related situations.

JOB CHARACTERISTICS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. This is a professional position which requires organizational and communication skills, as well as judgment, tact and diplomacy in contacts with YDI employees, community residents, parents and local government agencies. Strict adherence is required to all regulation concerning confidentiality.

Good general health. Background investigation to include fingerprinting will be required. TB Skin Test and Physical may be required.

Frequent travel is required by employee and proof of satisfactory car insurance is required.

Youth Development, Inc. is an at-will employer. Employment is by mutual consent of the company and employee, and either may terminate the relationship at any time with or without cause or advance notice. This job is contingent upon funding; however, availability of funding is not a guarantee of continued employment, nor does it imply any specific term of employment.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Not Inclusive):

  1. Works directly with the Vice-President to develop, coordinate and conduct education and work force services for youth.

  2. Collaborate with social service agencies and other youth service agencies for program development.

  3. Monitor case management of clients.

  4. Coordinate with other Education & Employment Programs to ensure continuity of services.

  5. Provide written monthly program reports due no later than the 5th of the following month to the Vice-President.

  6. Responsible for day-to-day operation of programs to include purchasing inventory control, staff scheduling, and other department records.

  7. Will work directly with the Vice-President in formulating policies and procedures according to the requirements set by the department.

  8. Will oversee service planning and delivery and provide program consultation as appropriate.

  9. Will be responsible to oversee and monitor case records and implement the use of the record keeping system by staff.

  10. Will recommend, plan and/or conduct in-service training for program staff in conjunction with the Vice-President.

  11. In conjunction with the Vice-President, will conduct ongoing research to evaluate program services.

  12. Will conduct employee evaluations and provide necessary employee assistance, guidance and improvement recommendations, as needed.

  13. Will provide information on appropriate community referrals.

  14. Attend all required trainings and meetings.

  15. In conjunction with the Vice-President, will identify possible funding sources and write proposals for grants to secure funding the Employment and Education component.

  16. Other duties as assigned.
