Position Summary |
The CNAH is looking for a responsible and skilled Program Manager to join our team. UNM Health Sciences Center for Native American Health (CNAH) builds and strengthens health alliances between the Native American and University communities and their partners for the purpose of improving Native American health in New Mexico. CNAH is focused on a set of complementary objectives based in education, research, and service funded by state appropriation, contracts and grants. CNAH is in a state of steady growth with more grants and contracts than any other point in its 15-year history and has expanded the numbers of research initiatives, programs, and services that we offer on campus and in the community. Operating with a number of revenue streams and as a special project of the NM legislature, CNAHs budget is complex and a number of reports are required. CNAHs current administrative support consists of one program coordinator and the workload and level of decision-making is now at a higher level of administrative need. We require supervisory assistance for 3 staff and 1 student employee. In addition, CNAH has at least one major community-based event each quarter and logistics and upfront work are time-sensitive. A program manager is needed in order for CNAH to continue its progress by supporting program development and providing research grants and contracts management, budget and financial management, personnel supervision, and other administrative duties. Minimum Qualifications |
High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience 2 of which are management level experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
Preferred Qualifications |
1.Manage and oversee the administrative and daily operations at the Center for Native American Health in compliance with university, state and federal policies and regulations, including preparing operating and special budgets and financial and program reports for UNM senior leadership and state and federal authorities. 2. Assist local Tribal and urban Native communities with needs aligned with CNAHs mission and vision. 3. Supervise personnel including guiding and training staff/student employees, interns, and/or volunteers performing related work, recruiting personnel as needed, conducting performance evaluations, and performing all personnel-related transactions. 4. Manage and oversee contracts and grants including developing required reports in coordination with CNAH leaders primary department contracts and grants personnel. 5. Coordinate numerous CNAH conferences and special events including purchasing and processing reimbursements. 6. Develop and monitor CNAH policies and procedures involving CNAH operations, staff and students. 7. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned |
