POSITION SUMMARY:

This position serves as the Dependent Childrens Services Division Data, Research and Statistical Specialist and provides a wide range of statistical support for short and long-term Court Improvement, Court Appointed Special Advocate, and Foster Care Review Board Programs goals. This position will work closely with Automation and Research staff from the Juvenile Justice Services Division and, as workload allows, will receive training and offer assistance with Juvenile Justice Services efforts. This position is also responsible for working with the fifteen (15) juvenile courts across the state in ensuring data reporting and quality assurance processes.

In addition, this position designs, produces, maintains and collects regular quality assurance and case reports, measures of dependency case outcomes and activity of court volunteers, annual data report publications, and additional regular and ad hoc reports. Develops and maintains statewide reporting on federal and state court performance measures, and conducts all aspects of statistical and related research, including database design and management, literature search, survey design and development, data collection and verification, analysis, and report writing, including the development of tables and graphs to communicate research results clearly to non-statisticians.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a bachelors degree in information technology, justice studies, social science, child welfare, or a related field with appropriate research methodology and statistics course work and five years of related experience. Directly related experience may substitute for the degree requirement. This position also requires the ability to utilize a variety of data reporting tools including Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access and the SAS statistical package, including database structures and relationships, building queries, maintaining existing programs and programming new programs for data entry screens, reports, and analysis. The ability to analyze, evaluate, and interpret data from various juvenile data tracking systems to create data reporting for a variety of end users, and strong experience in utilizing research methodology and statistical analysis principles. As well as the ability to work effectively with judges, court staff, and personnel from other agencies, and update and maintain web content and to develop web-based reporting
