This position is subject to the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy for Steward Health Care Workforce. Employees in this position will be required to provide adequate proof of vaccination for COVID-19 by an FDA-approved vaccine prior to starting work. Steward will consider requests for exemptions from this vaccine requirement based on medical condition or sincerely held religious belief in accordance with applicable Federal laws.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Administrative Director, Psychiatric Services, and in collaboration with the Social Services Manager, the Program Therapist is responsible for implementing therapies in a multi-disciplinary treatment team setting. Implementation includes evaluation of patients, determination of appropriate short term and long-term goals and treatment plan, and execution of therapeutic modalities. Program Therapist is also responsible for providing assessments of patients and their families, for planning and providing group therapy, and facilitating discharge planning. The Program Therapist serves as a principal member of the treatment team, communicating family and interdepartmental dynamics, and assisting in the formulation of the individual treatment plan. The Program Therapist collaborates with unit staff around milieu development and management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Masters degree in related area and/or appropriate education and licensure.
One year experience as a Therapist in a psychiatric setting preferred.
LPC-Associate, or LMSW in the State of Texas required. LPC or LCSW in the State of Texas preferred. COAP required within thirty (90) days.
