Position Summary

UNMTemps, the University of New Mexico's internal temporary staffing department, seeks a temporary Programmer Analyst 1 to join the Pediatrics Prevention & Population Sciences.

This position will be located at the UNM Prevention Research Center and will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that is preparing to field a large survey in New Mexico high schools.

Duties & responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Update and improve an online survey system that integrates the REDCap survey application and an SQL database. REDCap is a web application for building and managing online surveys and databases.

Update an existing version of the system and implement improvements.

Test the modified system and ensure the accuracy of survey data exported by the system.

Create technical documentation of the new system and changes made and will provide training to end users of the survey system.

Confirm that the system meets Centers for Disease Control guidelines for online surveys.

The successful candidate will efficiently update the system in preparation for the implementation of a survey of 40,0000 students that will take place in the fall of 2021. The position will work closely with other project team members to ensure that final products meet the needs of the research team, the students taking the survey, and the schools that are coordinating the survey administration.

Assignment Details:

Days & Hours: Up to 25 hours per week

Anticipated Start Date: TBD

Projected End Date: 10 weeks from start date

Parking Arrangements: Responsibility of the selected employee

  • Specialty licensure/certification may be required, as specified by the department.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 6 months of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with REDCap.
  • Experience developing online surveys and outputting data collected in the surveys.
  • Experience training end users and creating documentation.
  • At least one year of experience collaborating with a team to create a system that they will use.
