DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The Project Administrator oversees the day-to-day operations of projects that include the planning, coordination,
monitoring and implementation of Capital Projects and construction for services and, programs, for departments
and the Community. The primary responsibility is the documentation of all procurement acts and the successful
Completion of approved project undertakings for the appropriate District within the Gila River Indian Community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for maintaining all required reports, ?les, and documents (i.e., vouchers, receipts, authorization
forms, memorandums, bids and quotes, etc.) pertaining to utilization of special occasion ?inds through the
procurement and utilizations act, including daily chronological reports on project administration activities.
Ensure that accounting system is accurate, timely and complete; including both project and accounting
principles (i.e., cuff account).Evaluate all business and project transactions involving special funds related to the implementation of
services, programs, capital projects and construction.Overall responsibility for communication with the Department Director and other Community Of?cials
pertaining to the progress of projects.Attend all community meetings as required; prepare administrative reports and special project status reports
and makes presentations as required before committees, departments and the Community.Serve as a liaison to oversee construction and home maintenance projects to ensure accuracy and completion
of work.Prepare and maintain accurate, secure, and con?dential recordkeeping system for reports and ?les pertaining
to procurement/purchase, administrative action and other documents as required.Serve as liaison between departments, entities and Community members to perform ?inctions of the job.
Respond to inquiries concerning bids, quotations, and other incidental contracts.Responsible for ?nancial and compliance reports of federal, state, and community requirements as related to
project administration.Supervise assigned staff.Evaluate all business and project transactions involving special funds related to the implementation of
services, programs, capital projects and construction.Provide project administration and management for repair and restoration projects and develop cost estimates.
Provide technical assistance in project worksheet development for District and departments.Perform other related duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITY:Knowledge of and experience in accounting procedures and reporting systems.Knowledge of experience in construction and project management.Knowledge of computers and computer operations.Knowledge of economic, educational and social problems of Native Americans.Knowledge of the Gila River Indian Community and its procurement regulations.Ability to effectively plan, supervise and coordinate work of others.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports.Ability to direct independent research to analyze the results and to develop clear and logical recommendations.
Ability to negotiate favorable conditions with contractors, vendors, and potential associates.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Community employees, Community
Of?cials and the public.Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position; agree to maintain a Drug-free workplace.REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Associates degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, construction,
engineering, or a closely related field and a minimum of four (4) years experience in a planning, development
review or construction project management environment and which includes two (2) years of supervisory
experience, OrHigh School or GED and six (6) years experience in a planning, development review or construction
management environment and which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience.Bachelors degree preferred.ADDITIONAL REE QUIREMENTS:Required to obtain a Tribal Operators permit. Valid state drivers license with a current proof of driving
record for the past 39 months will be required to qualify for a tribal driving permit. Proof of driving record
must be submitted with application and must not be more than 60 days old from the date of submission
of the application.Required to a pass background check.Supervisory, Salaried Position
