Position Summary:

The Property Tax Analyst is responsible for maintaining, analyzing, and processing monthly property tax accruals and tax payments while ensuring a high level of data integrity.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for monthly property tax accruals for multiple entities and corresponding journal entries.
Independently research, follow up, and resolve property tax questions from internal accounting department as well as external taxing jurisdictions.
Continually audit property tax data for completeness.
Responsible for the timely payment of property tax bills.
Input and update tax data into the property tax software as needed.
Assist with the monitoring all email scans of property tax bills and assessment notices as needed.
Responsible for retrieving missing tax bills and assessment notices as needed.
Draft and update tax accounting policies, procedures, practices and guidelines as requested by management for property taxes and other related tasks.
Conduct special projects and other services at the request of management.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree, preferably with an accounting or finance major.
1 to 3 years of property tax / accounting experience required.
Must be proficient in various software packages including, but not limited to, MS Word, MS Excel and Adobe.
Experience with accruals, month-end journal entries, and month-end tax reporting a strong plus.
Experience with internal and/or external tax audits or accounting audits preferred.
Experience with real property taxes or personal property taxes a strong plus.
Experience with various accounting software. Yardi experience preferred.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail with intention to make things happen efficiently and effectively.
Reliable, dependable and trustworthy.
Performs duties in a professional manner and in accordance with laws and regulations.
