Purpose of the job
  • This is a highly specialized technician position with emphasis on excellence in customer service, attention to detail, quality improvement and analysis. The position will research, process, resolve and respond to provider-related inquiries (both internal and external).

ESSENTIAL job functions AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify, research, analyze, process, resolve and respond to provider-related customer inquiries (internal and external) and correspondence via telephone or written communication

  • Generate reporting and analysis to respond to provider inquires or departmental workflows as directed by management
  • Communicate with internal and external customers
  • Consult and coordinate with various internal departments, vendors and providers to obtain information and ensure resolution of customer inquiries
  • Facilitate the resolution of claim issues and/or investigation requests from other departments as directed by management
  • Document and record facts in regard to inquiries and correspondence by updating BCBSAZ files and related systems
  • Demonstrate and maintain current working knowledge of the required BCBSAZ systems, procedures, forms and manuals
  • Analyze provider-related system(s) issues, report findings to management and initiate necessary system correction requests per corporate/departmental workflows
  • Assist in special projects when assigned
  • Meet quality, quantity and timeliness standards to achieve individual and department performance goals as defined within the department guidelines. Assist in defining and improving quality standards within the department.

  • The position requires a full-time work schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or as needed to meet business requirements.

  • Intermediate skill in use of office equipment, including copiers, Faxcom, scanner, image retriever and telephones
  • Intermediate PC proficiency
