PVCHC seeks a Psychiatrist to provide services to families in our three Primary Care Medical Homes in the Eastern Central Region at Limon, Kiowa, and Strasburg. The Psychiatrist would be embedded in the Health Center in Limon and work as an integrated member of the care team to provide psychiatric services to adult and children in our other rural locations on the Eastern Plains.

Compensation (Pay): $222,136 to $249,873 based on experience. *Other compensation may include rural location differentials.

Job Summary: Provides medical psychiatric assessments and services to patients

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess and screen patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, including interviews, medical histories, physical exams, observations, and psychological testing
  • Analyze data and results of assessments to diagnose patients
  • Prescribe and administer medications according to diagnosis
  • Monitor patients to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications
  • Develop a treatment plan, measure progress against the plan, and make adjustments as needed
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner
  • Collaborate with a broader team of physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, behavioral health providers, and nurses to assess and adjust treatment plans
  • Coordinate and communicate with case managers and other stakeholders about treatment and care
  • Maintains records and provides documentation associated with services delivered
  • Certifies a patient for inpatient hospital or acute care psychiatric facility as appropriate
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Current and valid board certification in psychiatry
  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved psychiatric residency
  • Licensed to practice medicine in state of Colorado
  • Current DEA registration
  • One year of experience as a board certified psychiatrist
The position is a combination of in-person and telehealth visits, with an emphasis on in-person visits. Peak Vista is a Federally Qualified Health Center that serves patients regardless of their ability to pay and dedicates resources to three rural Health Centers in the Eastern Central Region. This position serves the psychiatric needs of families in our Rural/Frontier communities.
