Max Pay:
$20.25 per hour.
Job Description:
The PTS Field Service Specialist plays a key role in providing exceptional customer service at a high-volume ASU parking facility. This position ensures garage equipment (gate arms, ticket dispensers, intercoms, and fee computers) is fully operational while assisting faculty, staff, students, and guests with parking services. Working outdoors for the entire shift is required.
Essential Duties:
· Assist customers with AMANO equipment at pay stations, entry/exit lanes, and occasionally in the office using a fee computer.
· Deliver friendly, professional customer service, providing campus information, directions, and parking alternatives.
· Use parking software to process payments and maintain accurate activity logs.
· Monitor and report equipment maintenance issues to supervisors.
· Respond to intercom calls and communicate via two-way radio and phone.
· Perform light maintenance, including clearing ticket dispensers, adjusting gate arms, and general cleaning of equipment and facilities.
· Manage traffic flow during peak times for efficient entry and exit.
· Assist with event parking and reservations as needed.
· Drive ASU vehicles or carts between locations as part of daily duties.
· Write exit citations and assist motorists.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
· Experience handling credit card transactions in a high-volume environment.
· Two or more years working in a fast-paced service role.
· Prior experience in parking operations at a university, city, or airport.
· Knowledge of mechanical/electronic equipment maintenance.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
· Experience maintaining accurate records and following loss prevention practices.
· Comfortable working outdoors year-round.
· Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 35 lbs.), push, and pull.
Working Environment:
· Work outdoors for entire shifts in all weather conditions (heat, rain, wind).
· Operate an ASU vehicle or cart, frequently entering/exiting the vehicle (MVR check required).
· Communicate clearly via radio, phone, and in person.
· Work locations and priorities may change based on needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma and two-years (2) experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Driving Requirement:
This position may require driving. Employee must possess a valid US Driver’s license of the appropriate class and required endorsements throughout employment.
