ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS:
Incident Command Certification: ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800, Continuity of
Operations (COOP) Awareness and Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP). Must beavailable 24 hours/365 days. May be required to work evenings, weekends, rotating shifts, holidays, and will rotate as on
call duty of?cer.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator plans and organizes the Departments response to
terrorism and other public health emergencies in coordination with other Gila River Indian Community agencies.
This position is responsible for GRICs Pandemic Plan and associated coordination, development and upkeep of
several emergency plans associated with public health including surveillance reporting. In addition, work with
the State of Arizona on meeting PHEP Grant capability requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
0 Develop maintain and update as needed comprehensive public health emergency response plan as to include
Pandemic Plan and Emergency Support Function 6 & 8..
0 Coordinate with regional, Tribal, State and Federal partners as it relates to public health emergency
preparedness.

- Develop assessment and evaluation strategies for public health emergency response.
0 Assist in developing and organizing tabletop exercises and field exercises and preparing after action reports.
0 Provide education to tribal employees and Community members about bioterrorism and public health
emergency preparedness.
0 Perform other job related duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITY:

- Knowledge of communicable diseases, including their diagnosis, transmission, prevention and treatment.
Knowledge of economic, education, health and social issues of Community residents.Some knowledge of types of terror weapons and their health effects.Demonstrated ability to provide leadership to a variety of health and medical care professionals.Ability to apply computer applications and perform statistical analysis.Demonstrated ability to present reports to leadership and public audiences.Ability to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to build coalitions with other emergency planning and service providers.Ability to work after hours if needed.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, Community Officials
and the general public.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Health Services Administration, Emergency
Management, Public or Business Administration or a closely related field; and three (3) years experience in public
health which included implementation of community based health and surveillance systems; or any combination
of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the functions of the position.ADDITIONAL REg QUIREMENTS:

- Required to obtain a Tribal Operators permit. Valid state drivers license with a current proof of driving
record for the past 39 months will be required to qualify for a tribal driving permit. Proof of driving
record must be submitted with application and must not be more than 60 days old from the date of
submission of the application.
