Public Relations Manager - Brand

For over 100 years, Indiana Farm Bureau (INFB) has promoted agriculture in Indiana through public education, member engagement, and by advocating for agricultural and rural needs. As the states largest general farm organization, Indiana Farm Bureau works diligently to to be an effective advocate for farmers and, through its policies and programs, promote agriculture and improve the economic and social welfare of member families.

We currently have a great opportunity for a Public Relations Manager. This role is responsible for promoting and enhancing the Farm Bureau brand using various media vehicles. Key attributes were looking for include being a self-starter, inquisitive by nature and a creative thinker and a great writer. We also expect this person to bring a high level of comfort functioning as a spokesperson to diverse audiences.

Some of the responsibilities include:

• Attending meetings to ascertain the communication and promotional needs for the various INFB events
• Manage the development of fresh strategic content for print and social to bring recognition to the Indiana Farm Bureau brand.
• Develop news releases for local, regional, state and national media.
• Manage internal communications, for INFB, including the production of a biweekly electronic newsletter.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and professional organizations

Requirements include:

• BS/BA degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related discipline
• Requires a minimum of 7 years of public relations experience
• Proven ability to successfully create news releases, media pitches, social media and web content
• Ability to demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills to engage both internal and external audiences
• Solid experience with diverse social media platforms (i.e.Twitter, Linkedin.com)
• Must have good working knowledge of Indianapolis and statewide media
• APR accreditation is highly preferred
• Must be willing to travel with possible overnight stay
