Pulmonary Function Technologist - Englewood, CO - Pool / PRN

Position Summary

Responsible and accountable for performing quality Pulmonary Physiology Diagnostic Testing in accordance with the standards set forth by American Thoracic Society (ATS), the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC) and College of American Pathologists (CAP). This position works within interdisciplinary teams to provide safe and personalized care for the patient.

Essential Duties

1. Performs high quality pulmonary physiology diagnostic testing to assist the physician in the diagnosis of Pulmonary-Cardiopulmonary conditions in accordance with ATS, AARC and CAP standards.
2. Prepares and completes all required documentation in a thorough and accurate manner.
3. Performs all related responsibilities associated with Pulmonary Physiology testing to include operating and maintaining equipment in accordance with hospital and department safety policy and procedures.
4. Participates in quality improvement processes on an on-going basis, including acting as quality control subject as assigned.
5. Maintains continuing education requirements as outlined by specific credentials through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) and institutional policies.
6. Provides guidance to less experienced staff to assure high quality exams on all patients.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Education: Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy, Associates, Bachelors in Science, or Bachelors in Exercise physiology or completion of an equivalent accredited program required
2. Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of recent and related experience preferred. Clinical rotation experience in Respiratory Care through an accredited college program for new graduates and clinical experience as an exercise physiologist will be considered.
3. Special Training, Certification or Licensure: National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentials as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT), a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), a Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT), an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP), or a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP) required. CRTs and RRTs are required to have a current State of Colorado License to practice Respiratory Care as defined by DORA. BLS required.
