DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The Pump Mechanic/Electrician is responsible for the maintenance, installation, repair, and modi?cation of water
and wastewater system mechanical/electrical facilities; including lift stations, booster stations, wells, pump
controls, and other duties that are required to maintain facilities in an efficient operating mode.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


- Responsible for the troubleshooting of electrical equipment and circuits from 110-volt single phase to 480v 3
phase.Repairs mechanical equipment in lift stations, wells, booster stations, etc.Maintains system pressure reducing valve.Prepares requisition for purchase of material and spare parts.Maintain an inventory of spare parts, materials, specialty tools, and diagnostics instrumentation.
Responsible for working safely and maintaining compliance with OSHA standards.Will work independently and train other employees in the correct operation of facilities and how to report
problems with facilities when they occur.Maintains accurate daily, weekly, and monthly logs of facilities; attends safety meetings.
0 Perform other related duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITY:Knowledge of the principles and practices of pump maintenance and electrical facilities and systems.
Knowledge of electrical circuit blueprint and schematics readings.Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.Ability to express ideas clearly.Ability to participate in activities ofa highly visible nature and critical public service operations.
Ability to follow up on projects and assignments to ensure timely and effective completion.Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.Ability to work independently.

- Ability to respond afterhours and on weekends when needed to troubleshoot problems and performs repairs
at water and wastewater facilities.

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, Community Officials
and the general public.

- Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position; agree to maintain a Drug-free workplace.REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- High School diploma or GED and three (3) years experience in mechanical and electric repair, maintenance,
and installation of pumps, compressor, engines, and other related equipment.

- Experience in a water or wastewater facility is preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Required to obtain a Tribal Operators permit. Valid state drivers license with a current proof of driving
record for the past 39 months will be required to qualify for a tribal driving permit. Proof of driving record
must be submitted with application and must not be more than 60 days old from the date of submission
