DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The Receptionist performs receptionist and of?ce support work to include frequent public contact requiring
customer service skills. In addition, performs a variety of dif?cult and responsible clerical and typing operations,
which require the operation of a computer system. Regular duties and responsibilities are performed
independently and some initiative and judgment are utilized as experience is gained.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


- Assist visitors by determining information requested and send them to the appropriate department.
0 Screen telephone calls in order to assure appropriate referral of the call (i.e., obtain caller information, take
messages, forward calls to appropriate person, and provide answers to standard questions).
0 Type a variety of documents including general correspondence, agendas, reports, memos and statistical charts
from rough draft, recordings, forms, copies or verbal instruction using a computer.
0 Create and maintain clerical records (?les, logs, etc.) to provide accurate documentation of work performed,
or information that can be easily retrieved.

- Copy materials using a photocopy machine; sort, compile, staple and bundle materials.
0 Receive and process incoming mail.
0 Perform other related duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITY:0 Considerable knowledge of techniques for assuring effective public contact, including techniques and
procedures for communicating over the telephone.Working knowledge of business English, grammar, spelling and punctuation.Working knowledge of standard of?ce practices and procedures.Ability to operate different types of of?ce equipment.Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.Ability to respond appropriately to public inquiries and present a positive public image.Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees, Community of?cials and the public.
Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position; agree to maintain a Drug-Free workplace.REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of six (6) months of experience performing general of?ce clerical
duties or closely related experience.ADDITIONAL REE QUIREMENT:

- Required to obtain a Tribal Operators permit. Valid state drivers license with a current proof of driving
record for the past 39 months will be required to qualify for a tribal driving permit. Proof of driving record
must be submitted with application and must not be more than 60 days old from the date of submission
of the application0 Background check may be required. [Background checks are required for positions that involve regular
contact with or control over Community Children in accordance with The Indian Child Protection and
Family Violence Prevention Act, 25 U.S.C. Sections 3201 through 3210 and C.F.R. Part 63 and positions
that have regular contact with the Elderly. ]Non-Supervisory, Hourly Position
