As a Regional Itinerant Substitute Teacher you will be assigned to one of the TUSD regions and provide support to schools within a specific geographic region. You will report to the Regional Superintendent to provide support to schools in both daily or long term roles throughout the school year.

JOB SUMMARY
The Regional Itinerant Sub supports the needs of the assigned geographic region in Tucson (TUSD Region). This full-time, benefit-eligible position is embedded within one of the five TUSD regions for the duration of a school year. A Regional Itinerant Sub will report to sites within your assigned region each day as directed by the Regional Assistant Superintendent's Office. As an integral member of the Regional Team, Regional Itinerant Subs will need to be flexible, filling both short-term and long-term assignments, cover prep periods, and may be asked to provide lesson plans, student supervision and instruction, student assessments, grading, parent conferences, and collaboration with site staff.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate.
OR
Valid Arizona Substitute, PreK-12 Certificate,
AND
Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.
Classroom Teaching or Substitute Teaching Experience
Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Experience as a Substitute Teacher or Teacher in K-12 setting
Valid Arizona Exceptional Education Certificate
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
COMMENTS
Effective: 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR
LOCATION: Multiple Sites - District-Wide
FTE: 1.0 - 7.5 hours per day
Work Calendar: 9.5 month

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

Probationary Contracts will be issued for any contingent Certifications, Positions that are 0.6 FTE or less, and certified employees within their first three years with the District.
