Registered Nurse Description:

Our registered nurses work directly with the youth from the start conducting basic medical and psychiatric healthcare to our clients facing acute mental health needs. Collaborating with our multi-disciplinary team they interpret, transcribe, verifies, and carries out medical provider orders. Conducting basic medical and psychiatric triage to determine appropriateness for the program. Upon discharge our nurses help advocate and coordinate

Schedules vary, both part time and full time available

Salary is $38.00 - $45.41 hourly depending on experience and qualifications

BONUS of $1,500-$2,500 (FT) after 30 days and upon completion of New Hire Training, (NEO), and again after 9 months. Must work a minimum of 20 hours/week to be eligible for bonus.

Through evidence-based practices and a therapeutic approach, we have served over 12,000 Colorado youth, ages 5-18 in our CSU programs. Our multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurses, licensed clinicians, certified teachers, milieu counselors, teachers aides, and administrative personnel work together to meet the needs of our youth through New Vistas CSU and our day treatment program (Jefferson Hills Academy).

Job Duties:

  • Work individually and as a team to provide a structured and safe environment for each child/youth placed at our program.
  • Conduct basic medical and psychiatric triage to determine appropriateness for program placement.
  • Communicate and document medical history, current medications, laboratory test, and other medical needs.
  • Oversee medications.
  • Participate in daily multi-disciplinary team meetings.
  • Maintain necessary documentation upon intake, discharge, and while the youth are at our program.
  • Complete initial and on-going training.

Education/Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school and holds a current Colorado or compact RN license.
  • Experience with psychiatric nursing, pediatric mental health, corrections or residential care strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and basic computer skills.
  • Able to pass a drug test, including marijuana.
  • Able to pass a background and driving records checks.
  • At least 21 years of age.
