Research Analyst

Allied Universal is looking to hire a Research Analyst for a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC). The Research Analyst is responsible for building institutional knowledge in incident response and customer service. Working in the GSOC Knowledge Management center, the Research Analyst will conduct After-Action Reviews (AAR), collect and analyze performance data, and lead research projects to help the GSOC comply with contractual standards and continuously improve its products and services.

The Research Analyst will support Amazon Corporate Security's GSOC. This is an Entry Level, full-time position located in Arlington, VA

Essential Job Functions

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build, document, and share organizational knowledge across a large, global organization with remote team members.
  • Conduct case studies and other qualitative research projects across diverse security-related and other topics to improve incident response and customer service:
    • Research and analyze industry standards, best practices, and trends;
    • Facilitate internal interviews, focus groups, and group discussions;
    • Assess customer sentiment and experience.
  • Lead After-Action Reviews (AAR) that deconstruct events and identify learning opportunities and manage mechanism to implement resulting recommendations.
  • Clearly and concisely communicate lessons learned, best practices, and complex ideas to a broad range of audiences, both in writing and in person.
  • Support the development of moderated virtual libraries, dashboards, and databases that give local ACS teams the information they need to continuously improve their services.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in social science, security studies, ethnic/cultural studies, communications, education, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply physical security, emergency/crisis management, and/or customer service concepts and ideas.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Comfortable leading group discussions and one-on-one interviews.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, interested in acquiring and developing new technical skills.
  • Passion for learning and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in social science, security studies, ethnic/cultural studies, communications, education, or a related field.
  • 3+ years experience (including internships) with mixed-method research and analysis, project management, process improvement, crisis management, or equivalent.
  • Experience using project management methodologies to ensure efficient implementation across multiple projects; excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Track record of building strong working relationships and a team-player mentality.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to deal effectively with individuals of all backgrounds and level of authority.
  • Experience working with MS Excel, Tableau, or other data visualization programs.
  • Curious and creative mindset, flexibility, and openness to trying and proposing innovative ideas.
