Research Assistant I
Job Description
A Research Assistant I position is currently available in Dr. Andrew Mayers laboratory at The Mind Research Network. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained. Individuals with a bachelors degree in psychology, or pursuing a degree in a related field are preferred. Those with experience and interest in neuroscience, clinical psychology, and/or neuroimaging are strongly encouraged to apply.
The successful applicant will have two primary duties. The first duty will be working on multiple federally-funded studies examining the biological basis of mild traumatic brain injury in both children and adults. This will include conducting clinical interviews, symptom-based assessments, neuropsychological data collection, collecting MRI data, data entry and quality assurance. Data analyses will also be a primary focus of the applicant. The second primary duty includes working with a research team on a national project to understand brain growth and development in infants. Primary duties include participant recruiting, data collection (MRI and EEG) and data entry. Individuals with a background and experience in working directly with infants is therefore strongly preferred. The job will also require flexible hours including some evenings and nights to accommodate data acquisition and other related duties as needed for scanning infants and children (approximately 2-3 per week). As this position involves working as part of a research team, as well as working with sensitive populations, applicants should have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Individuals with a bachelors degree in psychology, or pursuing a degree in a related field are preferred. A minimum of 1 year of post-graduate work in a related field is also preferred. Those with experience and interest in neuroscience, clinical psychology, and/or neuroimaging are strongly encouraged to apply. Individuals with human research experience and/or experience in neuroimaging or MRI data collection are preferred.
Work is performed in a dry laboratory environment. Will operate standard office equipment and will frequently stand, walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, use a telephone, perform repetitive motions and occasionally lift objects that weigh up to 20 pounds. May interact with research participants.

Salary is commensurate with experience + $500 sign-on bonus.
