Research Associate
Job Description
Under the general supervision of the Director of Comparative Medicine, the Research Associate is a part of a multidisciplinary research team composed of veterinarians, staff scientists, and veterinary and research technicians. Research programs are broad in scope, and may include animal model development and characterization studies as well as pre-IND pharmacology, efficacy and/or toxicology studies. Research disciplines include infectious disease, physiology/pharmacology, and rare disease/gene therapy. The Research Associate is responsible for coordinating the technical conduct of such studies, integrating expertise of multiple research teams and Lovelace. Additionally, the Research Associate assists with data compilation and analysis for integration into study reports. The ideal candidate will work well in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. General knowledge and experience in preclinical research is highly desirable; strong communication and organizational skills are essential, as is a high aptitude and desire for learning new research skills and techniques.
Requires a masters degree in a related scientific discipline and a minimum of 2 years demonstrated research experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
