Major/Essential Functions
  • Serves as the Imaging Core Lab Manager and oversees the day-to-day operations. Operation of high end instruments in the Imaging Core Facility on the Amarillo campus. The position will be trained on these new instruments via on-site and remote training sessions offered by the equipment manufacturers, and is expected to attend workshops and scientific meetings. He/she will perform imaging studies for Principle Investigators (PIs) within TTUHSC/TTU and from outside institutions, with an emphasis on cancer related projects.
  • Development and training to assist users with running imaging core experiments for research projects of interest. Support the school of pharmacy by actively participating and monitoring the pharmaceutical
    research program in the field of cancer research and early development efforts as a member of the Imaging Core laboratory.
  • Oversee laboratory and chemical safety for core laboratory. Order needed reagents and supplies.
    Perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshoot as needed to ensure that instruments are
    available and functioning at their optimum.

Preferred Qualifications
Prefer Ph.D. or equivalent in the biomedical field (e.g. Physiology, Pharmacology, Biolofy) and at least 3 years of postdoctoral experience. Prefer experience in course instruction or group teaching. Hands on experience in histological techniques (e.g. immunohistochemistry) and with advanced imaging techniques, such as confocal microscopy and/or live animal imaging is preferred.
