Position Summary | UNM Center for Theoretical and Immunology (CETI) is seeking for a Research Scientist II to perform research on a NIH-funded biomedical project under general supervision of the principal investigator (PI). The objective of the internationally collaborative project is to apply our newly developed snail model and recently generated genomic resources to understand molecular mechanisms underlying schistosome resistance in schistosomiasis vector snails of the genera Biomphalaria and Bulinus and develop an innovative technology for snail gene editing. The long-term goal of the project is to developed snail-targeted, genetic programs for control of schistosomiasis, a parasitic disease that afflicts more than 200 million people in the world. An interdisciplinary approach, including genomics, genetics, and immunology, will be applied. See the Position Description for additional information. |

Minimum Qualifications |
Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
