Provides patients with the care and services rendered by a family physician while participating in a graduate medical education program preparing resident physicians for certification by the American Board of Family Physicians.

What You Bring/Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

  • Experience in family practice/primary care clerkships while in medical school, preferred.
  • Clear commitment to family practice as a specialty choice.
  • Required: Doctor of Medicine; completion of an accredited U.S. medical school program for physicians. Graduates of foreign medical schools-program recognized by the ECFM
  • Required: USMLE Step 1, Step 2 - CK and Step 2- CS; or COMPLEX Level 1, Level 2- CE and Level 2- PE and 1yr clinical Practice experience in an accredited US post graduate medical program.

Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

Job Responsibilities:

Assesses patient complaints, conducts appropriate interviews and physical examinations, determines an appropriate medical diagnosis for the presenting complaints and formulates a suitable treatment plan in accordance with the best scientific information available.*

Provides patient care to patients in both inpatient and outpatient setting sunder the direction and supervision of training program faculty. *

Maintains all appropriate charts and records for patients in accordance with sound medical practice and all governing laws, rules, and regulations.*

Bound by rules and regulations laid out for the conduct of medical practice by Federal Agencies, State licensing boards, hospital rules of conduct and residency policies.*

Participates in clinical and didactic teaching programs specified by the Residency Review Committee (RRC) special requirements for Family Practice. *

Participates in and maintains quality assurance programs of the various primary teaching institutions of the Residency Program according to the policies of the institutions and in accordance with the standards of the Joint Commission onAccreditation of Hospitals.*

Provides teaching to fellow residents and medical students participating in residency-sponsored clerkships.*

Assists in developing new training opportunities and critically evaluates the experiences they currently attend.*
