Determines applicants credit worthiness by assessing their financial situation and possible risk of default. Performs analysis of credit, income, assets, and collateral. Identifies and reviews compatible investors in order to maximize profitability. Independently dispositions loans held for sale (mortgage loans) per investor guidelines.

• Reviews and analyzes credit documents to determine approvability of all transactions.
• Reviews and analyzes Investor/Agency guidelines to make sure transaction meets requirements.
• Reviews suspended loan conditions to determine if loan is approvable.
• Reviews Appraisals to ensure they meet Investor/Agency requirements.
• Answers loan scenario questions/Communicates with Loan Officers, Processors, Etc.
• Attends online webinars/training/continuing education and conference calls.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education/Experience:

• 2 years previous Underwriting or 3 years of Senior level loan processing
• FHA CHUMS ID and VA LAPP loan experience required

Required Certifications, Licenses or systems needed :

• Previous experience using loan origination systems

Preferred Certifications, Licenses or systems needed :

• Encompass experience preferred

Required Knowledge & Skills:

• Thorough understanding of mortgage process and documentation.
• Knowledge of investor/agency guidelines
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.
