Residential Program Specialist
Department: Prevention Intervention and Behavioral Health

Salary: $16.95 Hourly

Job Description:

RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM SPECIALIST: Under the direct supervision of the Program Director. Will organize and coordinate, Case Management services for residential youth in the Transitional Living Program. Will be an onsite supervisor overseeing day to day programming, scheduling, intakes and other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 21 years old. Bachelors degree in a human service field from an accredited university and have one (1) year relevant experience with the target population; or any combination of education and experience to equal seven years.

Supervisor experience preferred.

Certified Peer or Family specialist preferred.

Extensive knowledge and experience working in a residential setting. Extensive knowledge of community resources and ability to work efficiently with public and private agency professionals.

Broad knowledge of assessment, service planning and service coordination in working with adolescents and families.

Ability to establish an effective professional manner in all dealings with clients and the general public.

Ability to exhibit emotional maturity and good judgment, to include high moral standards and proper oral/written communication skills.

Must be dependable and flexible with regard to working hours. Ability to follow and carry out written and oral instructions, quickly and accurately. Must be able to use discretion in all facets of work-related situations. Possess the ability to meet all deadlines while multi-tasking. Broad knowledge and experience in working with adolescents and their families. Must keep abreast of modern techniques and methods used in working with youth in a residential setting.

JOB CHARACTERISTICS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This is a professional position which requires organizational and communication skills, as well as good judgment, tact and diplomacy in contacts with YDI employees, community residents, parents and local government agencies. Strict adherence is required to all regulation concerning confidentiality. Background investigation to include fingerprinting will be required. Physical and TB Skin test is required upon hire, and may be required intermittently. Frequent travel is required by employee and proof of satisfactory car insurance is required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Not Inclusive):

  • Will complete all referrals, interviews, and intakes for youth entering into residential services.

  • Will hold primary responsibility for coordinating ALL services and clinical care for residential youth, including assisting with referrals and accessing other needed services.

  • Will provide life and social skills training that address goals specifically in budgeting, resume writing, job interviewing skills, etc.

  • Will provide Case Management Services consisting of a variety of interventions.

  • Will provide Case Management Services including assistance with identifying and coordinating services and support identified in an individuals service plan; supporting an individual and family in crisis situations; and providing individual interventions to develop or enhance an individuals ability to make informed and independent choices.

  • Will develop and implement an Independent Living Plan for each youth which will outline the proposed plan of care.

  • Will work with the assigned Therapist to develop a comprehensive safety plan for each client.

  • Will coordinate and facilitate treatment team meetings as indicated in the service plan.

  • Will monitor and evaluate the provision of client services on an ongoing basis.

  • Will provide maintenance services for clients that have stabilized and are not in need of intensive services.

  • Will maintain comprehensive client records and generate reports as required.

  • Will perform other duties that directly promote client well-being and self-sufficiency.

  • Will serve in a day to day supervisory role overseeing both Residential Staff and youth in program. Supervisory duties will include, but are not limited to; overseeing staff schedule, responding to day to day crisis calls, advising the Director regarding technical and/or clinical incidents that need to be addressed, ensure policies and procedures are being followed, participate and/or facilitate staff meetings, ensure reports and files are completed and submitted in a timely manner, consult with and take direction from Program Director.
