Position: Residential Supervisor

Classification: Non- Exempt

Supervised by: Deputy Director of Housing

Job Summary: The residential supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all East County program residents during their assigned work hours. The residential supervisor is also responsible for providing on site supervision and conducting perimeter checks to offsite East County housing locations. In addition the Residential supervisor is responsible for keeping the MSP team apprised of resident and facility concerns and participating as an integral part of the residential team. The Residential Supervisor shift is intended to provide support outside of office hours, which will include overnights, weekends, and holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides crisis intervention and support to residents.
  2. Assists clients with completing common assessments when appropriate.
  3. Assists with informing residents of all policies and procedures at the Maternity Shelter Program (MSP).
  4. Monitors residents and ensure compliance with policies and procedures at the MSP.
  5. Conducts on site supervision of client residences.
  6. Conduct perimeter checks for other East County housing properties.
  7. Provides updates to next shift regarding any essential information about residents and facilities issues.
  8. Answers incoming calls and provide resources as needed.
  9. Maintains cleanliness and order during work shift.
  10. Provides support during any structured resident activities.
  11. Participates in weekly team meetings.
  12. Provide daily updates to housing team relevant to perimeter checks.
  13. Assists clients with move-in activities.
  14. Enforce policies and expectations to clients.
  15. Provide support to case managers and other housing staff.
  16. Attends case conferencing meetings.
  17. Attend meetings as assigned.
  18. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors or equivalent preferred in social work, psychology, education and/or related human services field and one year experience working with multi-problem youth and families in a non-profit/human service setting. Demonstrated experience with family-based services. Minimum of one-year experience in a residential setting preferred. Knowledge of child development, child abuse dynamics, family systems, and community resources Demonstrated ability to be culturally sensitive to community and individual family needs. Must be a team player with excellent communication and organizational skills and abilities. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Computer literate as appropriate, including knowledge of Microsoft Office. Abilities: Must have the ability to adjust to a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and be flexible. Other Requirements: Must have a valid California drivers license, a safe driving record, automobile insurance, a reliable vehicle and be willing to use it on the job.

Physical Demands:

  • Reading and typing on a computer frequently.
  • Standing for long periods of time for perimeter checks
  • Daily traveling in car to East County housing properties.

Work Environment:

  • Office space may be shared with frequent telephone and visitor contacts.
  • The noise level fluctuates from quiet to noisy.
  • Flexible hours with occasional evenings and weekend response
  • Scheduled hours: 8:00pm-4:00am
