World-renowned residential treatment center seeking a Residential Therapist.

At Sierra Tucson, Residential Therapists are individuals who have responded to a personal higher calling to help those seeking mental health treatment. Driven to help residents uncover the underlying causes of their behavioral health concerns, successful Residential Therapists create trusting relationships with patients to deliver the optimal Sierra Tucson care experience.

A Residential Therapist is primarily responsible for providing treatment and support to patients on their recovery journey away from alcoholism, drug abuse, eating disorders, or other behavioral problems. The essential functions of a Residential Therapist include:

  • Conducting individual counseling sessions and group or family sessions, under supervision, as scheduled and documenting as required.
  • Co-facilitating assigned group or family sessions and assisting in modifying behavioral problems.
  • Responsibility for patient initial assessments and follow-ups.
  • Preparing individual treatment plans for each assigned patient.
  • Ensuring that proper documentation regarding patient care, treatment, and incidents are completed in a timely, clear, and concise manner.
  • Acting as a liaison between referral sources and patients.
  • Providing crisis intervention to patients as needed.
  • Planning for aftercare for assigned patients.
  • Acting as a liaison with insurance carriers.
  • Providing case management duties for patients to ensure individualized quality care.
  • Evaluating the need of the patients and determining if referrals to other programs or facilities is needed.

Qualifications/Preferences

  • Bachelors degree in a social or health services field required, Masters degree preferred.
  • Experience in counseling field instruction/internship or a similar practicum through education or a certification process.
  • Eligible for professional licensure or certification as required.
  • CPR and De-escalation/Restraint certification required (with training available upon hire).
