Being a Respite Support (Seasonal - Summer) for our Respite Houses has its Advantages!

  • Full Time Schedule: Monday through Thursday 7:00am - 5:00pm

Our Respite Support (Seasonal-Summer)...

  • Leads the establishment and maintenance of a therapeutic environment in the respite setting.
  • Protects health and safety of clients assisting Program Coordinator with the supervising, planning, and implementing of program activities.
  • Assists in providing direct supervision to children and models and coaches proper behavior management techniques for Respite DCPs.
  • Participates as a member of the Respite team and maintains a team environment.
  • Serves as a role model mentor leader, and/or trainer to Direct Care personnel.
  • Serves as a backup to the Program Coordinator.

Located in Scottsdale, Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Arizonas Respite program provides temporary rest or relief. The goal of respite care is to successfully provide an interval of rest for clients and their primary caregivers without disruption or compromise to their home environments. Through the Respite program, the kids get to enjoy group activities and go on field trips to museums, roller skating, and more! In this role you will actively assist the clients in the participation, involvement and routine of the Respite program. Having an energetic and creative approach while working with our kids, showing compassion and being a problem-solver to create a safe environment.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • 2 years work experience in behavioral health service delivery
  • Demonstrated skills in the following areas: Therapeutic Interaction Techniques, Crisis Intervention Techniques, problem solving and critical thinking skills, communication skills to mentor and train, coach Behavioral Health Technicians.
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 39-month history check
  • Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions)
  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results and pre-employment physical
  • Must be available to attend 3 weeks of full time, paid, required training Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm
  • Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidates understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children
