Job Summary:

Assists Retail Director in managing the day-to-day retail and Boutique operations to ensure delivery of superior customer service which includes, exceeding guest and guest expectations by being enthusiastic and helpful and to create a welcome home atmosphere for members and guests. In addition, to provide leadership, direction, and support to all Retail Assistants and Driver.

Summary Of Essential Job Functions:

  • Attract and retain members by consistently providing excellent customer service which includes maintaining guest service skills with a friendly, enthusiastic, and helpful demeanor
  • Ensure developed company and department policies are followed
  • Responsible for interacting with members and guests in a manner aligned with the People, Places and Programs components of the Village Standards
  • Responsible for direct supervision of the Retail Driver.
  • Present a professional, positive image that reflects well on the organization.
  • Responsible for training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures for Retail Driver and input for Retail Assistants in collaborations with Retail Director.
  • Responsible for taking lead role for the Boutique Operation in maintaining the retail floor at all clubs with the highest quality of cleanliness, organization and merchandising as needed which includes ensuring that the shop areas are always staged for maximum buyer impact and Carol ready audits.
  • Communicate and update all Retail Assistants on new programs, promotions, and sales on an as-needed basis
  • Serves as a communication link for ensuring changes or additions in policies, procedures, and or company focus and properly communicated and integrated into their responsibilities
  • Be knowledgeable about all retail products and provide training to staff
  • Leads by example, consistently conveying a positive attitude, passion, and pride in their work
  • Maintain Boutique operations as directed by the Retail Director in areas of the floors, offices, storage room and areas, shipping, receiving, scheduling.
  • Responsible for maintaining knowledge on current inventory levels and include using B4T to manage daily inventory, quarterly physical inventory, stock, and sales analysis
  • Maintain invoices, purchase orders and special orders giving to Retail Director in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for locating new shipments, unpacking, making sure all merchandise arrived without damage or short shipped, barcoding, hanging, steaming, transferring.
  • Responsible for ordering all re-stock items: locks, headphones, hangers, merchandise bags, barcode tags, Zebra printer labels.
  • Train Retail Assistants on Visual Merchandising
  • Maintain visual merchandising as directed by the Retail Director which include, floor layout, signage, fixtures, merchandising displays, making sure the floor encourages easy traffic flow, grouped by category and there are no blind spots for shoplifters
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a compelling presentation for merchandise that will engage customers and help stimulate sales activity.
  • Ensure that merchandise is being utilized by appropriate grouping of items to simplify purchasing decisions.
  • Place merchandise racks according to space and allow walking room for members.
  • Coordinate with Retail Director to create designs and theme for displays.
  • Perform responsibilities in each Village Boutique at schedule decided upon with Retail Director to ensure consistency within each shop.
  • Build one to one customer relationships which includes creating buzz about the shops and increase transaction per customer
  • Assist Retail Director with scheduling and training of department staff as needed and other duties as assigned
  • May be required to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Required to maintain a physical presence within the Village to perform assigned duties
  • Finding new ways to increase revenue with staff.
  • Add Loyalty Program in B4T detailed setup and rollout given separately
  • Add Lifetime Value of a Member Program detailed setup and rollout given separately
  • Oversee building Tennis/Pickleball program for new merchandise category
  • Create and stock Welcome Desk Hold Tags, Return Form, Questionnaire
  • Head up B4T Front of House questions, concerns, corrections for Boutiques at all clubs
  • Assigned by Retail Director, oversee the Buying responsibilities of at least one Active Line in conjunction with new Tennis Lines.
  • As needed, attend Local Fashion or Gift Markets collecting and suggesting new products for the Boutiques.

Knowledge/Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Retail or Sales related experience, including some office administration experience
  • Outstanding customer/guest service/ skills with a friendly, enthusiastic, and helpful demeanor.
  • Must be able to travel between and work at all clubs
  • Must be able to transfer merchandise between clubs as needed
  • Ability to work independently as well as with the group and take initiative
  • Must have strong attention to detail and have good organizational skills
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Must be a team player
  • Must be able to successfully pass background check
  • Computer literate including proficiency in B4T, Word and Excel
  • Ability to maintain flexible schedule
  • Obtain CPR certification within 30 days of hire through Company training
  • Minimum of one year of supervisory experience

Knowledge/Skills Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Knowledge of fashion trends


Required Abilities

Physical Activity
This position requires daily standing, walking, lifting, grasping, bending, and kneeling. Sitting for some periods of time. Substantial repetitive movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Involved in activities where one must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Requires the ability to receive detailed information through written and oral communication.

Physical Requirement
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced ability for up to 5 hours in length. Must be able to lift to 15lbs on a regular and continuing basis and up to 50 lbs. on occasional basis. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting on floor, repetitive motions, bending, arms overhead doing inventory, climbing a 2-3 step stool. Sedentary work involving sitting some of the time. Walking and standing are required daily. In addition, may involve physical movement which includes activities related to membership events and programs.

Visual Requirement
This position requires close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing computer monitors and extensive reading.

Working Conditions
Involves typical office or administrative work, member outdoor activity and traveling from club to club each week, sometimes daily.
