Qualified external candidates with at least six months of experience eligible for $15,000 sign on bonus, no contract required! Additional relocation bonus may also apply based on geographical location. Must be hired into a Full-Time or Part-time position; PRN positions are not eligible.

Schedule: 40 hours/week. 8 hr Shifts M-F - 0630-1500

Additional call / Holiday Coverage applicable with a 30-minute callback radius.

This position will permanently have team call to cover both CV and Vascular.

A large percent of time will be in rooms or asa float to give breaks and/or help with turn overs.

Pay Range

$32.36 - $51.86/hr

Job description:

Actively support department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit including shift charge, department and/or service line. Ensure that care is delivered to each patient in accordance with quality standards. Act as liaison between physicians and patient care team. Maintain communication and promote cooperation with unit staff and other departments. Supervise the staff; authorize work procedures and assign duties. Provides input and recommendations to the director/manager on coaching, mentoring and performance management of associates. Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. Personally, accountable for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.

Run front desk in the OR, ensure assignments for staff meet the daily need. Schedule the next day's assignments, communicate case changes to staff, support and coach staff to build confidence and growth, hold staff accountable to policy and high standard of practice, collaborate with other Day Charge to ensure continuity of practice, act as leadership within the department to support staff, Manager and Director. A large percent of time will be in rooms or as a float for your rooms (giving breaks and helping with turnovers). Will also be used on occasion to help out in the rest of the OR

What You Bring/Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

• One year of recent nursing experience in the OR required
• Previous Charge RN for OR or running an OR highly preferred
• Associate Degree in Nursing
• BSN required within 4 years of hire or transfer
• RN License required; Current RN license in applicable state of work or current RN license from a participating state in National Licensure Compact for eligible states
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association certification required
• ANCC; National Nursing Certification ANCC approved is strongly preferred
• National Nursing Certification in Speciality Area, CNOR, strongly preferred

Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

We have a Busy, fast paced OR with 16 Suites and see about 35 - 40 cases per day. Types of cases we see daily are; Gen, GYN, Ortho, Trauma, Dental, Robotics (DaVinci XI), Heart, Vascular Neuro, Plastics, Urology, ENT, no Peds. We are a fast pace, busy level 2 trauma facility, with high acuity patients.
