The Market Pool Float RN will accept rotating assignments at the (3) FL Steward hospitals located in Sebastian, Melbourne, and Rockledge. Shifts will be assigned on a daily basis, in departments that include Med/Surg, Telemetry, Orthopedics, Cardiac Care, and/or PCU.

The RN is accountable for planning, organizing, delivering and coordinating patient care utilizing nursing process in accordance with established policies and procedures. RN is responsible for coordinating care among patient/family, provider, nursing, ancillary, and other team personnel. Communicates with physicians/Nurse Manager/coworkers, as appropriate about changes in patient's condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision. Demonstrates support the mission, values and vision of the 5 hospitals in all actions and interactions with employees, patients, medical staff, guests and visitors through use of STAR key words: Service, Teamwork, Accountability and Respect. Other duties as assigned. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the patient; possess the ability to identify each patients’ requirements relative to his or her age specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures and skills check lists. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision. Age of population served: Infant, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric

Med/Surg - Provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical surgical setting. Communicates with physicians/Nurse Manager/coworkers, as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Other duties as assigned.

Telemetry -Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Tele care setting. Communicates with physicians/director/charge nurse/co-workers, as appropriate, about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Must be able to respect diversity of each individual’s values, culture, spiritual beliefs, and other socio-economic issues in addressing the needs of patients, visitors, and co-workers. Participates in performance improvement activities. Other duties as assigned.

Orthopedic - Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Orthopedic setting. Communicates with physicians/Nurse Manager/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Must be able to respect diversity of each individual’s values, culture, spiritual beliefs, and other socio-economic issues in addressing the needs of patients, visitors, and co-workers. Participates in performance improvement activities. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Current/Active Florida RN License or Compact License

Associates degree in Nursing

American Heart Association BLS, ACLS Certification

Basic principles and practices of perioperative nursing
