Job Description
This position is subject to the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy for Steward Health Care Workforce. Employees in this position will be required to provide adequate proof of vaccination for COVID-19 by an FDA-approved vaccine prior to starting work. Steward will consider requests for exemptions from this vaccine requirement on the basis of medical condition or sincerely held religious belief in accordance with applicable Federal laws.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director, Perioperative Services and the direct supervision of the OR Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse in the Operating Room is responsible for the provision of safe and effective care of the perioperative patient to include the immediate pre-operative period, during operative procedures, and immediately following surgery until transport to the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. The Registered Nurse assigned to the Operating Room may also provide direct patient care for patients admitted to the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of accredited nursing school preferred.
- Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse.
- Previous clinical nursing experience in Perioperative Services environment desire.
- Current CPR and ACLS.
